The Menu is a black comedy horror movie that is currently the #1 movie on Netflix. It follows a couple (Nicholas Hoult and Anya Taylor-Joy) attending an extreme fine dining experience on an island. As the meal progresses, Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes) reveals his sinister intentions that all his guests will be dead by the end of the night. The film satirizes the culture of food and dining snobbery as Chef Slowik has lost his passion for cooking due to inane diners and the demands of success in the food world.

What’s it about? Silent Night is a British black comedy that depicts a near-future where the government has issued everyone suicide pills in advance of an impending doomsday scenario. A group of wealthy friends gather for an elegant Christmas dinner party at a country estate. As it is their last evening of life, the children are allowed to swear and secrets are discussed openly at the table.

The Hunt (2020)

Crystal (Betty Gilpin) turns the tables on her hunters.

What’s it about? A group of wealthy liberals round up a group of conservative voters and hunt them at a manor in Croatia. The huntees include Crystal May Creasey (Betty Gilpin), who was mistaken with another woman with a similar name. Crystal is able to outsmart the hunters and turn the tables on them, slowly making her way to the group’s leader Athena Stone (Hilary Swank).

How is it like The Menu? It lampoons wealthy elites and features one group of humans hunting another. It also has a strong female lead with good survival instincts, like The Menu.
