You should be proud of yourself. It doesn’t matter if you’re still making minimum wage. If you barely have enough money to pay the rent this month. If you had to cancel plans with your friends last weekend because you didn’t have enough cash to pay for drinks at the bar.
Sometimes, success comes slow. And with the kind of dedication and talent you have, you are going to be successful. It is going to happen.
You might feel under-appreciated right now. You might wonder why the hell you are trying so hard, why you are doing so much, why you are stressing yourself out so often when your effort isn’t even being rewarded.
You might be angry. Frustrated. Confused. At a loss for what to do next.
There is no worse feeling than when you are desperately trying to move forward, but feel like you are staying in the same exact place. When you aren’t sure whether you are making progress or failing miserably.
Even though you have been working harder than you have ever worked in your life, you might be tempted to push yourself even further. You might feel like there is something more you could be doing. You might feel like you aren’t good enough. Like you don’t deserve to take a break. Like you need to keep going, going, going.
Or the opposite might be true. You might not have anymore energy left in your system. You might be tempted to give up. You might be trying to find a way to lessen your workload, because you’re pretty sure you could get away with it. You’re pretty sure the world wouldn’t collapse if you decided to take it easier on yourself for a change. If you decided to stop being so damn hard on yourself.
No matter which way you’re looking at the situation, you need to take a breather. You are not doing too much. And you are not doing not enough. You are doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing.
You are a fighter. You are a badass. You are going to get through this slump. You are going to make it out even stronger.
Right now, you might feel like trying is pointless, but your effort isn’t going to stay unnoticed forever. It is going to pay off. It is going to help you reach the destination you have been stretching to reach.
Success isn’t going to come overnight. You have to work your ass off for it. You have to keep chugging along, even when you are unsure of what the future holds.
Everyone has setbacks. Everyone has struggles. Everyone has days when they wonder whether their effort is pointless. The only difference between the people who succeed and the people who fail is whether they push past those doubts or let the doubts eat them alive.
Choose the former path. Choose to believe in yourself. Choose to hold onto the hope that one day, if you keep working your ass off like you are right now, you will achieve everything that you have dreamed about. You will get where you were aiming to go.
