Whilst you may be busy scoping out the obviously hot bad boy (basic), you may be making the huge mistake of overlooking the awkwardly smooth, handsome, book-worm AKA the gamer guy. Sure probably your chances of sharing the love they have for Harry Potter, Comic books, their game consoles are very slim, but beneath that exterior could very well be the man of your dreams. In spite of what the pessimists may preach, gamers are awesome and sexy. Here are my 10 reasons why you should take a break from dating the basic messy jerks, and give the nerdy one a chance.

1. Gamers are brainiacs

There’s a ton of studies out there that show that playing video games actually boosts regions in your brain. For example just think about it, if he’s a gamer (religiously active on his ps4 or xbox1 or PC) he is probably pretty damn good at it. He plays it so swiftly and fluidly. It almost looks like you’re watching a fucking movie while he’s playing the game. And that, my friend, is the part of the brain that is responsible for spatial orientation, memory formation, muscle memory as well as strategic planning and also motor skills. He isn’t just rotting his brain away.

2. Gamers are good with their hands

What doesn’t kill them make’s those fingers stronger. No need to go into depth because… Well that’s self-explanatory. *wink wink*

3. Gamers are never boring

These types of humans have the tendency to use their imagination in everything. Because they spend a lot of time playing video games, contrary to what other people may think, they don’t see the world as mundane or boring. They actually see the world as their own personal playground. Every single date is an adventure. They’re usually game (see what I did there) for anything! In fact, they’re so game (I had too) it’s safe to say you may have some of the most creative, silly and unique moments together.

4. Gamers are pretty much, low maintenance

To complement the previously stated reason, as much as they enjoy going out on dates and spontaneity, they’re pretty much game (sorry, last time!) with just staying in, ordering pizza, and watching a movie marathon. Regardless whether the date is taking place outside or inside the house, they’ll find ways to make it awesome and cute!

5. They know their machines

Chances are when your system needs a cleaning or a check-up they probably won’t nag you about finding someone to get that checked because they’ll know what to look for. Based off personal research they know what HDMI cables are and what they do, they understand the difference between HD space and RAM. And even if they don’t know exactly what it is, they aren’t afraid to learn and will more than likely do the research you probably should’ve done before you asked them. But its okay, they got it! Even the most casual of gamers have a working knowledge of their own system. They won’t wake you up in the middle of the night because they aren’t able to connect to the internet.

6. They are so thoughtful

A stuffed bear? A bouquet of red roses? A box of chocolates? No that’s way too easy. They want to give you a gift that truly means something to you. They’ll search and investigate about what you really “need” aka want (just like those games they play). They’ll think back on all previously mentioned information that may assist as relevancy for this gift giving obstacle. They understand that gift giving can be a challenge and they won’t take it for granted. There’s that one gift out there that will draw out the best response from you and him, being the gamer, he’ll take on that challenge like a dark soul’s mission.

7. Gamers are prepared for a zombie apocalypse

They are not only mentally prepared to destroy a race of the traditional slow walking morbidly undead piece of meat, but they are also prepared for fast ones. Once a zombie apocalypse break outs (because it’d be pretty ignorant not to believe it’s going to happen) you will need someone experienced to fight with you. He’s going to be the best one to have on your team. Not only does he know how to deal with every kind of zombie imaginable, his proficiency in the last of us will make him a valuable ally. His knowledge on the subject will only compliment your strength. They’ll be no dying with him around.

8. Gamers don’t give up easily

No matter the difficulty level of the problems they’re facing, they always, always find a way to make things work. If something isn’t going as planned, you bet your ass your gamer will look for alternatives and other buttons to push. Blame it on the frustrating hours of playing dead souls. A gamer will always find a way to solve a problem. They won’t give up on you.

9. They aren’t clingy

Gamers recognize the value of alone time. They’ll respect your privacy and won’t intrude with your activities. They are neither possessive nor jealous. You want to go out with your friends late at night? “Okay, Sure, have fun, babe!” They won’t demand that you give up your whole life for them. They’re happy with what they can get.

10. Gamers are patient

Aside from the fact that they’re so used to staring at a loading screen, or patiently awaiting until the next game console comes out, or waiting for that newest bloodiest games’ release date, or those midnight releases that make them the patient kind of humans. So you’re going to take 2 hours to get ready for your date? They’ll see this as an opportunity to level up. It’s a win-win situation.

11. Gamers are heroes

All of them are champions. Even the ones who like to play the bad guys. Deep inside, they are all hard wired to save the world and keep you safe from harm. Not saying you need saving but hey, this world can be fucked up why not have a partner with bragging rights as far as missions completed and lifesaving skills go? If an Italian plumber can go through dungeon after dungeon to save an elusive princess, them, as gamers, can go through anything and do anything just to be with you. And they will. TC mark
