Why Each Zodiac Sign Should Probably Take A Break From Dating

Sophia Sinclair

March 21st – April 19th

You’re overthinking it. You tend to be the one to make moves, to say ‘yes’ to trying new things, and to text first, but you’re reading too much into every action or inaction on everyone else’s part. If you’re feeling like you need a decoding ring just to figure out if they like you back, it’s time to indulge in some self-care and remember how to live in the moment.

April 20th – May 20th

You aren’t ready to take risks. You have had your heart broken before, and are not in the mood to relive that again- but it might be making you too cautious. Take a timeout, and work on forgiving yourself for past bad choices. It’s okay to make mistakes!

May 21st – June 20th

You’ve been caught up in quantity over quality. There’s nothing wrong with seeing a lot of people, but after awhile it can seem like everyone’s blurring together and the repetition can be grating. Take time to remember what your goals are- whether that’s finding a soulmate or just finding a reliable FWB who boosts your confidence.

June 21st – July 22nd

You forget to put yourself first. Set aside the time you’d usually spend on a weekend date to doing something that will make you feel accomplished and happy- nobody else.

July 23rd – August 22nd

You feel pressured to impress. It’s not that you don’t already know you’re a catch- it’s that you want to make sure that the perfect person doesn’t slip through your fingers because you didn’t come across as interesting enough, or smart enough, or -insert whatever insecurity your ex brought out of you here- enough. Spend time with people who already see your worth, and let them remind you that you don’t need to work so hard to be the best version of yourself.

August 23rd – September 22nd

You’ve been compromising on what you really want. It’s a lot easier to set standards when you’re not immediately faced with choosing to say no to an otherwise great person. It’s time to re-evaluate what you need from a partner, and what flaws you really can live with- and which you can’t, no matter how hot they are.

September 23rd – October 22nd

You’re doing too much. You have other things on your plate besides dating (and getting ready for the date, and planning the date, and finding someone in the first place…), and it’s time to recharge. Re-establish a routine that helps you remember what it’s like to feel well-rested and energized again.

October 23rd – November 21st

You get lost in the process and find it easy to forget that there’s no time limit, no point where all of the best matches will be gone forever, and your self-worth is not connected to how many superlikes you wake up to in the morning.

November 22nd – December 21st

You’ve been dating all the wrong people. You’re drawn to people who aren’t afraid to take risks, and who inspire you, and that should never change. What does need to change is how you keep dating people who are selfish or irresponsible. Take a step back to re-evaluate what you need for a healthy, balanced relationship, and prioritize those needs first.

December 22nd – January 19th

You’re burnt out trying to find someone who checks off all your boxes. You’ve learned (mostly) from your past mistakes, and now it’s a struggle finding someone who can be the partner you deserve. It’s time to step back and make peace with the fact that you can’t rush the process.

January 20th – February 18th

You’re bored. If it is starting to feel like everyone you swipe on is the same, and you keep having déjà vu on first dates having the same conversations about the same things over and over- it’s time to take a break. Go learn something new that challenges your creativity so you can come back feeling ready to take things on from a new perspective.

February 19th – March 20th

You keep getting disappointed when your date doesn’t live up to the fantasy you’d created. Take some time to live more in the moment, and come back ready to enjoy people for who they are, not who you really wished they’d be. [tc-mark[

I’m still scared of the dark because if I admit there’s no monsters in the shadows, I have to admit my life lost a little bit of mystery.
