30 Awesome Songs That Feature Numbers In Their Title

Songs are all about numbers. They’re about the number of times you repeat the hooks, the number of lyrics you have and the number of beats you have per line. For mainstream artists, songs are also about the number of weeks it takes to get to #1 on the Billboard charts. Since I like different types of songs, and since I’m half Asian (and stereotypically like math and numbers), I decided to compile a list of awesome songs with numbers in their title.

ONE

1. Coolio – “1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New)”

2. Barenaked Ladies – “One Week”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC_q9KPczAg%5DThis song came out the summer before I went to college. I don’t think anyone could recite every single lyric, but it was fun trying to, especially after drinking beer.

3. Phil Collins – “One More Night”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKVq-P3z5Vg%5DPhil Collins sure knew how to woo the ladies. He also knew how to write about heartbreak, like in this song. Did you know that the American Red Cross used this song in the early 1990s in a public service announcement about emergency shelters?

4. Blur – “Song 2”

5. Elliott Smith – “Waltz #2”

6. Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock – “It Takes Two”

7. Arcade Fire – “Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)”

8. Bob Marley – “Three Little Birds”

9. Kenny Rogers – “Three Times a Lady”

10. Aphex Twin – “4”

11. Cake – “Friend is a Four Letter Word”

12. The Clash – “Four Horsemen”

14. Dolly Parton – “Working Nine to Five”

15. Radiohead – “2 + 2 = 5”
