When You Feel Like You Won’t Be Okay

By

I know the feeling when everything seems so overwhelming you feel completely engulfed by a huge dark cloud.

If there is one thing I can convey to you, it is that you will be okay. I know sometimes it does not feel okay and you want to be angry and you want to scream and cry and throw things and be mad. If anyone knows that feeling it is I. But it is so important that you do not let those emotions overcome you.

Do not let that anger you feel caused by someone else consume you. Do not become that bitter person because of someone else. Listen very closely when I tell you that it is not worth it. Anyone who is the source of your pain continuously is not someone who should be in your life and you should not prioritize them in anyway. Someone who truly cares about you deep down to their core would never hurt you over and over.

I am all for second chances and forgiveness. I think that’s what my problem is, along with many other people. We forgive. We forgive so quickly and it is not until we are in our worst state on the floor crying that we remember why we are in this pain. It is not until we are our worst version of ourselves that we realize how we got to this point. Do not let it get to that point. Stop letting it happen. Stop letting shitty people in, who could care less. Stop giving out chance after chance after chance. Chances are if they haven’t stopped doing the fucked up stuff they have been doing time after time, they most likely are not going to.

It is sad. The main reason people give out so many chances is because they believe in the person when they say it won’t happen again. They believe so much in that person because they know deep down, that person who is causing the pain is capable of doing so much more. They believe in them so much that they know they aren’t these bad people they have come to be.

There comes a time when you need to stop. Cut the ties. It will hurt, it almost always does. You have to remember at the end of the day that you did everything you could have done. You believed in the person so much and there is only so much you can do. The other half has to come from them. You can’t make good decisions for them. They have to. And if in the end they still do not measure up to the person you believe they can be, you need to be done. Forget what could have been and move on. There is no sense in holding yourself back from reaching your full potential just because of someone else. Do not let someone drag you down.

Do not be that person who hangs around and waits for that person to finally give you what you deserve. It could be weeks, months, or years for that to even happen and even then it might not. Move on from the situation a stronger, wiser version of yourself. You are capable of amazing things. You will find someone who values you and they will believe in you just as much as you believe in them. Remember, you will never find the right person if you’re stuck in something with the wrong person. Enough is enough, now believe that.
