If you’ve ever gotten stuck trying to get your foot in the door, you know how crucial it is to have some real-world experience. Internships and opportunities of that nature are great, but they’re usually not enough, and they’re sometimes neither paid nor offered in the field that some people want to pursue.
That’s why O2’s work experience website GoThinkBig teamed up with Rizzle Kicks to give almost 100 young people the work experience opportunity of their dreams, working on the set of the music video for their new single “Lost Generation”. Here, we have a behind-the-scenes look at the project.
Over 3,000 applications received from all over the U.K., and each of the youth crew was given the opportunity to shadow some of the industry’s best talent on set and in post-production. As a result of the project, two young people were actually able to get more paid work in the field. GoThinkBig knew that work experience in the field is crucial for getting on the career ladder, and so they wanted to start something that would give young people opportunities that they otherwise wouldn’t have had.
