The ancient physical and spiritual discipline does more than just keeping you young and fit. Yoga increases flexibility, builds your muscles, refreshes your skin, improves your health, calms your mind, and also reduces stress. The benefits of Yoga are universally known, and inarguable.
I am halfway through the fifth minute of a strange contortion, my right leg is flung far out in front of me, my left leg is swept back, pelvis forward, and I am trying desperately to retain my balance. I’m clearly a masochist, I think to myself as a bead of sweat slips down my forehead.
We want to cling to the things we love when they start to fade. Why? We pour too much of ourselves into other people. We give them every tender, beating ounce of our heart, but how often do we check in to see what we are giving ourselves?
The moment I stepped into that room my life had changed. I don’t mean this metaphorically, like I can connect with the yoga Gods and now I see the meaning in life and what not. I mean my lifestyle changed completely just from the atmosphere that surrounded me.
I love the smell of the seasons changing.
