Eventually, and after a year, I had reached the following conclusion: you don’t need to follow a trendy diet to be healthy.
What I Learned
Without you, I am learning more about myself. Instead of trying my hardest to make sure you are doing okay, I can finally focus on what makes me happy. I can place myself first instead of last. I can make myself a priority.
1. People will love you, but you must remember, they are human. And being human means they are going to make mistakes. Sometimes great, sad, heartbreaking, devastating mistakes that hurt more than anything.
The drinks have changed, too. Beers traded for coffees. Shots traded for cocktails. Nowadays we go out and just talk. It’s a change from the nights focused on hooking up, binge drinking, throwing up and forgetting it all by 10 AM.
Every idea that moves the world forward seemed crazy the day before it became genius.
Your heroes are just people. They cry, they stub their toes, they lose things, they get sick. Everyone is just trying to be a person.
Your life is yours. You’re responsible for yourself and living and expressing your most beautiful dreams. No one can find happiness by living dreams of someone else.
You have to ask for what you want or else you’ll never get it.
I realized that I was never going to be fully happy until I could learn how to grieve, how to fail, how to grow, and how to succeed — all on my own.
Sometimes the unexpected can bring joy; and sometimes it can bring pain, but either way what you expect very rarely turns out to be what actually happens.
