There’s a monthly party in Philadelpha that is purely a DJ playing this kind of music while everyone dances around a weird bar in a sketchy area of the city screaming the lyrics to these songs. Now I go to school full-time and work a job I don’t like especially instead of going to shows every weekend. I guess this is growing up.
While Deliliahs, Eileens, Emilys, Marys, Carolines, Johannas and Barbaras are out inspiring aspiring musicians to pen amorous and randy tributes, Jennys are the muses for songs about women who are loose, victims of abuse and/or have been either on the instigating or receiving end of criminal behavior.
I thought I would be instantly smashed to pieces, but somehow the train went straight over me, and except for the noise, it didn’t hurt a bit. I was really just embarrassed. Everybody was screaming and freaking out and I didn’t know what to do, so to avoid the awkward situation, I decided I would just pretend to be dead.
