Terence Crutcher was just a black man living in a country that didn’t value him. A country where black men are perceived as stronger, larger and more threatening than a white man of the same size, based on just a picture.
When we forget a name, we are admitting to a lack of interest in the person, on some level.
You cannot rush the reconstruction of a heart.
In 2018, I’m breaking up with the enemy within. The voices in my head that keep telling me that I can’t do something or I’m not good enough.
You heal when you don’t look at your heartbreak as an ending but rather as a new beginning. You heal when you remember the lesson and forget the pain.
I like waking up and finding out that this really is all there is.
