I have made the choice to take time away from the idea of dating. I am not making this choice because I am wallowing, rather I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel– I have found peace and clarity throughout the fog of heartbreak endured over the past few months. I honestly feel happier and healthier on my own than I have ever felt in a relationship.
From relationships to families, distractions to obsessions, passions to fears, we are constantly bombarded with information, energy, and the opinions and judgments of others. Sometimes we are even our own worst enemies. Time and time again, though, we find ourselves alone.
No one ever tells you what it’s like to be alone. One day it happens and we adjust to solitude as a right of passage. Days spent lying on the grass and weekends spent lying to our parents replaced by evenings spent distracting or drowning a restless mind into complacency.
