If you say you love yourself but are constantly treating your body like shit, running back to people who clearly do not have your best interests in mind, that is not self-love.
Kids grow up to be there for others but torment the face in the mirror.
Self-acceptance is the new kale, and although it’s just as good for you, it’s really uncomfortable. The books and TEDTalks preach mindfulness and compassion, but they gloss over the parts of the process that are more a slap in the face than meditative.
I knew that even though it is my nature to be an empath, I can learn to take more care of myself and establish clearer boundaries.

At the end of the day it all comes down to the relationship you have with yourself and if you can’t form a solid relationship there which should be the ground level for everything else in your life, anything you try and build on an unstable structure will crumble.
