Sisterhood is living proof that there actually are people in this world who epitomize loyalty, and it reminds me every day that being the most beautiful person on the outside isn’t what makes someone special.

She knew that she’d be the first one you call in an emergency and was ready for anything.

You teach her that it is not her body that makes her who she is, but her mind, her soul, the way she carries herself, the way she laughs, the way she loves, the way she listens.

You can blame anything on her. Finally, it can be someone else’s fault.

“My sister and I are a couple of years apart but we shared a room our whole lives. Some of the best memories of my entire life are just of us just lying in our beds talking and laughing in the dark.”

“It looks gross. And you will get germs. Only do it on special occasions.”

There are some things I want to say to her, that I would say to my younger self, if I could. These are things I would say to all young women who are going to be teenagers soon, and much of the advice will be helpful for my younger brothers as well.

My little sister is the star of the family. Everything she does is perfect. It doesn’t matter that my GPA is higher than hers, or that what I want to do with my life involves saving the world as opposed to informing it of the latest fashion trends. She is the prettier sister, the wittier sister, and the more flexible sister.
