In a world that places so much value on extroversion, it’s really fucking hard to survive.
My biggest fear was that I would be missing out on something better by committing to one thing. I came to the realization that there will always be someone or something better for me and better than me.
The key is to do the best with what you have today.
Maybe if we all felt a little more understood we could release the anger, hate, and hopelessness before we turn to rash actions.
Take off the clothes, the makeup, the body type — and underneath it all — underneath all of that stuff — is a human. Under the skin, we are all flesh and blood with a miraculous beating heart, doing the best we can, every single day.
We all love to talk about ourselves- it makes us feel validated and important. We like to talk about things we’ve accomplished our exciting things we’re going to be doing.
Giving empathy requires more listening than replying. Your presence is more important than your insight.
It helps you connect more deeply to the people you love.
Don’t assume you know what someone else is feeling – ask and be gently curious instead.
People come in and out of your life at just the right time, everything changes around you, you look back and see how much you have grown and everything keeps getting better or worse, but it never ever stays the same.
