Inspiration isn’t something that strikes, like lightning. It isn’t something that comes and goes of its own free will. It’s something we can generate, like energy.
Writing is boring. It’s unnatural. It’s basically sitting and staring at a screen and typing into a keyboard.
Know what you want to talk about and keep it simple. It’s a lot easier to gain followers if your message is clear.
When I started looking at colleges, I had no idea that there were programs that allowed you to pursue both your career and education simultaneously—that’s one of the biggest, and best parts of the Air Force.
I quit my teaching job at age 26. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do next, career-wise, which honestly terrified me. I just knew that teaching wasn’t for me.
My best was never good enough; I always felt the need for more.
Lesson: Writing is just like anything else in life — it requires practice so you can keep your brain sharp. If you’re not publishing often, find ways to still be writing, and always document your raw thoughts as soon as you can before they are forgotten.
People have values. Geniuses and other advanced forms of life have “code.”
It’s one giant cycle. “Digital nomads” come to places like Thailand. They post selfies of cocktails and beaches and their suntans on social media sites and their blogs. They sell useless shit to each other and glorify their lifestyle to keep a constant stream of wealthy suckers coming to Thailand to buy their crap.
Listen, you think you are at the bottom. Your bottom is better than 95% of the rest of the world.
