If I could write you to permanence, I would write all the words I should have told you before you walked away, before I left, before time and fate took their turns.

I don’t miss you much in the large, out of scale moments. I don’t miss you in the moments that cause for celebrations, or the one’s that cause me to drink too much wine by myself. I miss you in the tiny, smaller, and softer moments.

I spent that year fighting with myself because I knew I’d never find another you. I knew I’d only find pieces of you in those that came after. Of course those pieces would never be as special or as raw as they are in you. Just copies, slightly fragmented, nowhere near perfect.

You’re not over this person probably because they could never love you back the way you wanted them to, the way you needed them to. They were a defective toy that couldn’t be fixed at the shop. This made you so angry and so sad and you tried just so damn hard and everyone knew it but it didn’t work.
