My Hope For You

I hope you fail.
I really hope you fail.
I hope you don’t let it hold you back.
I hope you find a way to keep moving forward.
I hope you make a huge mistake and I hope you grow from it.
I hope you make that mistake again, and become a little wiser.
I hope you have life changing experiences, and I hope that they break you.
And after all of that, I hope that you learn how to put yourself back together.
I hope that you become guarded because someone broke your heart, and I hope you meet someone who will help you tear down those walls.
I hope people walk out of your life for no reason at all.
I hope you see their absence as positive.
I hope you know that you deserve better.
I hope you come into college with your life planned out.
I hope everything changes.
I hope that you change your major seven times.
I hope you fall in love with your major slowly.
I hope it swallows you whole.
I hope your major, your professors, and your classes make you a better person.
I hope that they change your life.
I hope you let yourself be selfish.
I hope you know that it’s not always a bad thing.
I hope you allow yourself to be vulnerable.
I hope you treat someone poorly, and they put you in your place.
I hope someone treats you poorly, and you handle it maturely.
I hope you are filled with regret.
I hope you let it all go.
I hope you learn something from everyone you meet.
I hope you’re happy.
I hope you love yourself.
I hope you help others every time you get the chance.
I hope you are grateful.
I hope you tell your parents you love them.
I hope you tell them thank you.
I hope someone tells you you’re beautiful.
I hope you listen.
I hope you have faith in something greater than yourself.
I hope you believe in love.
I hope you cry when you’re sad.
I hope you give someone a second chance.
I hope you apologize when you’re wrong.
I hope you learn to forgive.

But most of all, I hope you love your life. Or at least learn to. I hope you treasure every glorious minute of it. I hope you never really grow up. I hope you spend time alone, and I hope you enjoy it. I hope you write. I hope you read. I hope you waste time on things nobody else will ever understand. I hope you never truly know who you are and spend all of your time striving to be a better version of yourself. I hope you try something new, and fail. I hope you will try again. I hope you are successful. I hope you realize how blessed you really are, and never forget it.
