For The One Who Always Loves More: You Are Not Weak

By

You are not weak for seeing the best in people, even when you have created some of their goodness in your mind.

You are not weak for always being the one who tries—the one who reaches out first, the one who gives out both second and third chances.

You are not weak for lovingly handing out pieces of your heart to less than gentle hands.

You are not weak for shouting your love from the rooftops. For telling people exactly how you feel.

There is such strength in your believing that people are, for the most part, good. For understanding that people are broken and bruised, that they are doing the best they know how.

You are so strong in the way you forgive those who hurt you and give them another shot. You are strong in the way you step into your vulnerability and put yourself out there, hoping they will step towards you.

It takes incredible strength to give to people. To say, “Take this part of me,” because you know they need a little more love to hold onto and you have so much to give.

This isn’t to say that you should excavate your chest, giving away all of your love to everyone. Not everyone deserves the gift that is your love, a realization that will surely hurt you at your very core.

But when you are quietly wishing you could care less and play it cool like so many others. When you’re feeling weak because you don’t have a heart of armor. I want you to see your softness for what it is, an act of rebellion, in an often-hardened world.

People are so afraid to feel, yet here you are, showing up despite it all. You simply cannot be anyone other than your loving authentic self.

And that, my dear, is strength.
