10 Life-Changing Lessons You Can Only Learn Through Failure

1. You are stronger than you think.

Failing at anything in life will show you just how strong you truly are. It requires you to dig deep and find that inner strength you didn’t think you had. Even if you think you’ve hit rock bottom, you eventually come to the realization that it can only go up from here.

2. You have to have blind faith.

Blind faith is believing that something is possible without having actually seen or experienced it. It’s knowing that you will overcome whatever it is you’re going through even if your current reality doesn’t reflect that. Your mindset is everything. What you think, you attract, so training your mind or choosing to think positively will have an immense impact on your emotions, well-being, and overall productivity. Slowly but surely, you will notice how your life will begin to shift, and then you can watch all of the good things flow into your life.

3. You have to take care of your mental health.

Sometimes failure is something you think you can handle, but it can also subconsciously affect your mental health. Make time for self-care, do things that make you happy, and always know that you can reach out to someone to talk to.

4. It’s okay to cry.

Or yell. Or scream. Or break down. Failure can be a pretty traumatic experience, depending on the situation/circumstance/person, and oftentimes we will try to hide our emotions and put on a smile on our face to pretend we’re okay. But bottling up your emotions isn’t healthy. Allow yourself to feel whatever you’re feeling and honor your emotions. Only then can you let them go.

5. You are not alone.

Experiencing failure can make you feel lonely and isolated from the rest of the world, especially when you see everyone’s highlight reels of their lives, showcasing how successful and happy they are. But this is usually not the case. Most people don’t usually talk about their failures until they’ve reached the other side to success. But just know that everyone has failed at something at some point in their life and that there is no such thing as an overnight success.

6. Never forget how far you have come.

Failure has the power to make you forget just about everything you’ve achieved in your life. It can make you feel worthless, undeserving, and doubt your abilities to be successful. But this is absolutely not true. Always remember how hard you worked for your past accomplishments—failing at something can never take that away from you.

7. Do not compare your journey to anyone else’s.

No one can achieve the same things at the same time all at once. There can be so much pressure to achieve x, y, and z by a certain age, and if you don’t, then you feel like a failure. But you’re not. You are simply following your own path and will achieve everything you desire on your own time. There is no rush to success and absolutely no competition to be successful within the same timeframe as other people.

8. You WILL be successful and define your own version of success.

Everyone has their own version of success. What can be considered successful to one person can be considered a failure to another. Remember that your success is your own and that you can and will achieve everything you want in life in your own divine timing.

9. Everything will be okay.

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But someday. Please never give up on yourself or your dreams, because you can and will get through whatever it is you’re going through.

10. Failure does not define you.

You are more than your failures. And you are worthy of love and success. Please never forget that.
