This Restaurant Owner With Down Syndrome Makes Any Dream Feel Possible

By

It’s so easy to feel like your dreams aren’t worth pursuing, that you’ll never be able to make it, that there’s too much holding you back. But Tim Harris, owner of Albuquerque’s Tim’s Place restaurant, is undeniable proof that there is little really holding us back. With the help of his family — and after winning “more medals than Michael Phelps” in the Special Olympics — he achieved his dream of opening the restaurant he’d wanted to run since he was 14 years old. Customers are treated like family, with hugs and “I love yous” and great food. And it makes you wonder why life isn’t always this happy, and why we are holding back on our dreams when people like Tim are in the world to show us that anything is possible.
