How Living In The Moment Allowed Me To Become A Better Version Of Myself

Have you ever been frustrated with your life? Do you find yourself constantly asking why you have to face these challenges when no one else does?

This is something I have always done. Correction: This was something I used to.

There was a time when I constantly found myself questioning my purpose in life and wondering why happiness eluded me. I wondered why I found myself in impossible circumstances where I had no opportunity of victory.

But one day, I realized that this wasn’t because I had more obstacles to face compared to other people. Happy people are happy not because they have no problems, but because they know how to actively look for happiness even in the most hopeless of situations. It was their positive attitude that filled their lives with light, love, and laughter.

It was then that I decided to change the way I approached life. I realized that happiness is always right under our noses and we can find it only if we look for it. That was when I began implementing my new philosophy — living in the moment.

Living in the moment allowed me to appreciate the true beauty, power, and purpose behind every experience. It allowed me to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, which were hitherto hidden from me. The smell of a flower, a pat on the back, a word of encouragement all took on a new meaning as I focused on experiencing each event in its complete glory.

I stopped suppressing my emotions. I curbed my tendency to be pessimistic. I opened myself to experiencing every thought, emotion, and action that the moment brought to me.

Living in the moment allowed me to become a better version of myself. Accepting everything as it was gave me insight into what it was that I really wanted out of life. I don’t mean something materialistic like a house or a car, but real, innate desires. This helped me visualize a better tomorrow.

Now every night, just before bed, I actively visualize the life I want for myself. I focus all my mental energies towards this. I shape the events in my mind in detail and allow my subconscious to plan how to achieve these dreams. I have found that this technique has helped me lead a more fulfilled life.

If you’re already doing all this, keep going. If you haven’t yet, get started. It can change your life.
