Stay Single Until You Find A Man Who Feels Like Home

By

I want a man who looks at me and says, “There you are.  I’ve been waiting my whole life for you.”

A man who has no problem being the first one to say “I love you”, even if he thinks it could scare me and make me want to run away.  He’s not afraid to say what he’s feeling and to tell me what’s on his mind.

I want a man who walks on the outside of the sidewalk, who fiercely protects me and whose mission in life is to make me feel safe.

A man who would rather die than ever hurt me, who knows he holds my heart in his hands and who believes that is one of the biggest gifts in the world.

I want a man who isn’t afraid of big dreams, big feelings and who takes chances on life and in love.  A man who wears his heart on his sleeve, for he knows the bigger the risk, the bigger reward.

A man who looks at me like he can’t wait to devour me, and who does so every chance he gets.  A man who is equal parts tender and rough, who knows how to touch a woman in a way that makes her purr.

I want a man who makes my skin flicker with electricity, sending shock waves down into my soul.  A man who knows that foreplay begins before we ever get into the bedroom, and who spends the day penetrating my mind before we meet at home.

A man who prefers to spend Friday nights curled up together on the couch, perfectly content with a book and easy music playing in the background.  Who loves to be the Little Spoon and who allows me to hold him at night.

I want a man whose actions match his words, whose integrity inspires others to step up their game.  Who keeps promises and does what he says he’s going to do.

A man who tells me I’m all he’ll ever need, and who spends the rest of his life living up to that declaration.  A man who can melt me with one look from across the room.

I want a man who believes in me and who pushes me to be my best, even when that means we may be apart.  He knows that unless I am whole and happy, we have nothing together.

A man who isn’t afraid to be alone, who values solitude to recharge and take care of himself.  A man who enjoys his own company yet is happy to have me as a welcome addition.

I want a man who will wrap his arms around me and allow me to sink in, reminding me that everything is going to be ok.  Who will hold me tight until I believe him.

A man who shows up.  When it’s hard, when it’s uncomfortable.  When his first instinct may be to run.  I want a man who will step through that fear and show up anyway.

I want a man who feels like a refuge.  Like the whole world could go to shit but as long as we have one another we can get through anything life throws at us.

I want a man who feels like I’m coming home.
