If You Don’t Put Your Heart Out There, You Won’t Remember You Have One

By

If someone special walks into your life and you don’t make your feelings known, they’ll walk straight back out again.

And it might not be tomorrow, it might not be next week, and it might not even be next year, but one day you will live to regret it.

Because the truth is you can get over the words, “Let’s just be friends.

In time, you can get over, “I’m just not that into you.”

And you might not believe me, but your heart will get over the tragedy of, “I’ve met someone else.”

But you’ll never get over what might’ve been.

Your mind will never stop churning around those what ifs and if onlys.

Your heart will never be at peace.

No one’s going to wait for you to be ready. The reality is, none of us ever feel ready for anything. But the brave among us have learned to take a leap of faith and…

Jump.

They don’t know what awaits them. They don’t know if there will be rocky turbulence along the way. And they can’t yet see a safe spot to land in.

Because they realize the best things worth having in this life will always be uncertain. There’s no roadmap to get there, and no guarantee you’ll be okay once you do.

But the chance at love is worth it.

Yes, your heart might get bruised or broken along the way, but let me tell you something – that’s the only way you’ll know you have one.

Use all that you’ve been blessed with. Your hands to cup their face, your eyes to etch every inch of them into your memory, and your heart to shower them in love.

If you like someone, don’t be afraid to tell them what you like.

If you want someone, hold your head up high and tell them why you want them.

Don’t hide your heart away. It’s the most beautiful thing you have to offer anybody.

If they don’t want it, I promise you somebody else does.

Sometimes, all it takes is one book. One book that turns your world upside down. One book that changes your entire life.
