It’s Funny How Things Don’t Work Out (And Funny How They Always Do)

It’s funny how things don’t work out. It’s funny how they do.

Funny how we spend so much time worrying and stressing over all the unimportant parts of our lives; our work and money, and we turn a blind eye to the truly important, finite things, like our time and our loved ones.

Isn’t it funny how some of us manage to make all our dreams a beautiful alternate reality, yet some of us never even come close to experiencing the taste of success?

It’s funny how the one person you think you’re certain of can disappoint you dearly, and the one you’re so unsure of can surprise you in ways you never imagined.

Funny how your heart can shatter, so terribly that you can’t see it ever mending, so messily that you swear off loving again. But then someone waltzes into your life unexpectedly, and makes you want to risk your heart all over again.

It’s funny how you lived alone for so long, quite content with your own company, and had pretty much given up hope of finding your person; so you don’t even realise it at first when you do set eyes on them.

Isn’t it funny how your whole life can literally change in a second, without any warning? It’s funny how you either choose to adjust yourself to that change, or refuse it and reside in denial.

It’s funny how separately, each one of our choices seems insignificant, but then you start to piece them together and you see that each one was leading you a little closer towards your destiny.

Funny how you can wait your whole damn life for the perfect person, and then one day it suddenly hits you that there is no perfect person. ‘The one’ is simply the one you decide to make yours, forever.

And isn’t it funny how we can carelessly promise each other forever, only to leave shortly after? Yet some of us manage to make it all the way to forever.

It’s funny how some things don’t work out.

It’s funny how they do.
