I want a man with excellent taste and style–who takes the utmost pride in his appearance. But he can’t be a pretty boy or dress too well and he certainly can’t look better than ME.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
Are people getting stupider? Anecdotal evidence (i.e. the only kind I have) suggests that yes, they are. But I don’t think social media is the cause as much as it is an effect.
So why then, after she thought to start a magazine and to call it O, did she then decide to place herself on the cover of every single issue? Was it to remind us that O stands for Oprah?
It is narcissism, it is pretentious….blah, blah, blah.
I have found that 90 percent of the time, two things are happening. One, you are attributing to malice what is mostly just ignorance or forgetfulness. Two, people are generally pretty cool and want to make things right again.
We could all be called narcissists, because we are all principally in charge of our own selves, and therefore very interested in examining and documenting those selves.
