To The Girl He Never Appreciated

For a moment, you were happy… because you felt like you were the luckiest girl in the world, because you thought that you were the damsel in distress and he was the prince charming who was ready to save you and give you the happily ever after you had always wanted…

But, all along, you were still that damsel in distress, unsure of what you really want, unsure of what you really feel, unsure of what life has to bring you. Your life is so full of uncertainties that you do not even know what would make you authentically happy.

And then he left you… the world felt like it was falling down on you, that no one could ever understand how you feel, that you question yourself if you were really good enough for a person to stand you long enough to have a long-term relationship with you. Your life is so full of what if’s that you cannot really determine what is it you want in life anymore.

But listen to me. No one can make you authentically happy but yourself. You don’t need a man to complete you; all you need is to love yourself fully for who you are. You are perfectly imperfect but that’s just how you should be because these imperfections define who you are. You need not to change yourself for a person to stay with you because if he really loves you then he would accept who you truly are without any doubt.

Stop thinking about what’s wrong with you because there is none. Stop pushing yourself to a guy who does not know what you are really worth because damn, you’re worth more than that. Stop changing yourself to something that people want you to be just to gain their acceptance. Stop crying yourself to sleep because you feel like the whole world has given up on you.

Remember, there is more to life than love. There is more to life than the people who once brought you down. There is more to life than the problems surrounding you. You are bigger than all of these.

Just believe. Be a fighter. Keep the faith. Be happy. Love yourself. TC mark
