Today Is Going To Be The Best Day Of Your Life

Getting out of bed in the morning is undoubtedly one of the toughest things about starting your day. There are the easy days; the days where you get out of bed as soon as you hear the alarm buzz. You jump up and get ready to take on the day with a smile on your face.

I truly believe that the mindset you start off with every day affects how the rest of your day will play out. Good morning = good day = happy Sara. These days are easy because you start off with a positive mindset, which follows you throughout your entire day.

It’s those days where you are not looking forward to the day, the days where you did not sleep well the night before, the days where getting out of bed seems nearly impossible to do that are a challenge. You wake up groggy and exhausted and that usually follows you throughout your entire day. Bad morning = bad day = Unhappy Sara.

Sometimes it seems easier to stay bundled up in our cocoon of warmth and comfort knowing that whatever is “out there” cannot get to you “in here.” It seems easier to lie in a place that is familiar and snug than to get up and know you have to do things or see people you do not want to. You slept for a good six to seven hours but you are more drained than ever and the strength you have to exert to take the blanket off of your face seems like the toughest thing to do. Sometimes you persuade yourself to just stay put. You tell yourself its okay to have days where you are not yourself enough to take on the world so you stay in the place that knows your body so well and you melt back into the one dwelling that you feel can shield you from all that breaks you down.

There are days where no matter how dreadful it may seem to get out of bed, you know you have to because you have work or school or a big interview. I have had plenty of these days. And a lot of times, I am ashamed to admit, I listened to the voice that told me to let the day go by and to just stay put in my bed for a few more hours.

And then I read something that changed my whole perspective on making it easier to get up in the morning: “Who’s to say that today isn’t going to be the best day of your life?”

Are we going to look back five or ten years from now and remember the day that we could not get out of bed? The day that we wasted away? The day that we let slip between our fingertips?

Who’s to say that today isn’t going to be the best day of your life? Who’s to say that today isn’t the day I get a promotion at work? Or the day I don’t adopt a beautiful kitten? Or the day I wont make a friendship that will last a lifetime? Or the day I will not fall in love?

How do you know that today WILL be that day? The day you achieve a goal or make someone smile or change someone’s life?

These are the days we will remember years down the line.

Life’s short. We have to take advantage of every single day we are blessed with. I believe that every morning I wake up from sleep is a miracle. I owe it to myself to get out of my comfort zone and take on every single day that is handed to me. We should take advantage of the limited number of days we have on this earth.

Ask yourself every morning before you get out of bed, “Who’s to say that today isn’t going to be the best day of your life?” And then get out of bed and make it the best day of your life.
