You Should Date Yourself

Take yourself out on a date.

Enjoy your own company. Be with yourself. Date yourself. Not because no one else wants to. But because you have to. Because you need to. Because you deserve to.

Take yourself out on a date. Go to that restaurant which you love. Eat your favorite food. Order that 6 pieces bucket meal, all thighs, with extra gravy. Treat yourself. Eat as much chocolate sundae as you want. Throw your utensils and use your bare hands if you must. Stop caring about what anyone else thinks. Go order that extra rice.

Take yourself out on a date. Go to the beach. Take off your high heels. Walk barefoot by the shore. Sit on the sand. Turn off your phone. Enjoy the sound of the waves. Listen to the sea breeze. Relax.

Take yourself out on a date. Don’t think about the pressure of work or school or bills or taxes for a minute or an hour or two. In fact, don’t think about anything. Give your mind some rest. Breathe.

Take yourself out on a date. Allow yourself to realize that your happiness does not depend on anyone or anything. Smile. See those wonderful lights in the night sky? Think how blessed you are by being able to see such beauty for free. Allow yourself to appreciate the simplest things in life.

Take yourself out on a date. Remind yourself how amazing you are. How unique you are. How special you are. Feel how the wind softly kisses your skin making you feel extraordinary. Hear how the breeze whispers “you are beautiful” over and over again. Because you are. Beautiful. Amazing. One of a kind. Special. Extraordinary.

Take yourself out on a date. Being alone is not the same as being lonely. And sometimes, being in your own company is exactly the right remedy you need.

Take yourself out on a date. Regardless of whether you are in a relationship, or married, or engaged or single. Find time to take yourself out on a date anyway. Find time to be with yourself. Find time to be in touch with your inner being. Find time to be YOU.

Take yourself out on a date. And let it be the best date of your life. Cause why not? No one else knows you better than you, right?

So by all means. Please. Go. Take yourself out on a date. You should. You must. You have to. You need to. You deserve to.
