Here’s Why I’m Single (So You Can Stop Asking Me Already)

By

Since I am starting to get older, I sometimes get asked why I am single.

I am single because I refuse to settle for something less than extraordinary.

I am single because I am trying to make myself a priority and better myself before I can better anyone else.

I am single because I am not ready to have my heart broken or break anyone else’s heart.

I am single because I have goals and ambitions I am not willing to give up.

I am single because I want to be something and accomplish something without anyone potentially standing in my way.

I am single because my children mean the world to me and someone may not LOVE them or treat them how I would expect someone who is in love with me to treat them.

Being in a relationship is not a measure of success. Being in a relationship does not determine my happiness or fulfillment in this world. To be in a relationship would be nice, but not at the expense of my happiness or the other person’s.

If I am meant to find love with another person, it will happen. But in the meantime stop passing judgments on single people because we are doing just fine.
