Dear God, Please Don’t Let Me Get Attached To What’s Not Mine

In A World Full Of Chaos, Be The Person Like This

The truth is, the more you grow up, the more you’ll realize that this world is cruel. Your heart will break many times and you’ll face rejections, disappointments, and countless farewells. You can’t beg people to always stay and as cliché as it sounds, you need to be your own hero to save yourself.

You will be the one who picks yourself up from the ground and you need to find a way to be strong enough for waking up after a sleepless night. The world will tear you up, break you down, and take some parts of you away until you’ll realize that there’s nothing left.

But, here’s the thing. Every time the world gets the best of you, I won’t tell you to hold on or to be strong. I won’t sugar coat things and tell you that everything will be better soon because I don’t know if it will. I don’t even know how to live my life in the right way either.

Maybe the burden that you carry will stay until tomorrow, until next week, or maybe until next year. Or maybe tomorrow, you will be the happiest person on earth.

The point is, whatever this world offers you, I only wish that you always be the one who’s never afraid to love.

Be the one who loves the most, the person who never afraid to text first and to ask whether they’re doing okay or otherwise. Be the one who always wants to reach out without feeling guilty of being labeled as ‘needy’. Be the one who admits that you miss them. Be the one who always cares.

Be the one who’s never afraid of being vulnerable, the one who’s brave enough to ask for help if you need someone to carry the weight of the world with you. Be the one who’s never ashamed of being broken, who admits and accepts that you need some time to heal-and it’s totally okay.

Be the one who embraces the sadness and the agony of being broken. Be the one who’s brave enough to feel every bit of emotions and accept the way it makes you more human. Be the one who never judges your own and other people’s emotions. Be the one who’s brave enough to feel.

Be the one who always loves wholeheartedly and sets them free at the same time. Be the one who loves others without having the obsession to own anyone. Be the one who loves more without begging anyone to stay. Be the one who always let people go.

Be the one who believes that the intense love which you gave to other people will eventually back to you. The one who believes that the people who are meant to be in your life will always find their ways back to you and vice versa. Be the one who always gives the best of you to every person that you love.

Be the one who loves more, even if it’s scary and risky. Be the one who’s brave enough to face rejection and loss.

And most of all, be the one who always forgives. Be the one who never blames anyone for your loss. Be the one who never hates yourself for those broken relationships or for loving the wrong person. Be the one who never regrets loving others. Be the one who always gives without expecting any returns.

You see, this world needs more people like you. The intense love which you give to others is not the sign of weakness, it’s the symbol of strength instead.

When your time is up in this world, you will be remembered as the one who always loves without hesitation. You will leave a countless legacy in other people’s hearts. You will be remembered as someone who makes people feel better about themselves.

At the end of the day, in this world full of chaos, let yourself be the soft rain. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
