Egyptians Are Mad As Hell, And They’re Not Going To Take It Anymore

By now you’ve heard about what’s going on in Egypt: protesters have been taking to the streets in unprecedented numbers, calling for the departure of despotic President Hosni Mubarak, who has been in power since 1981. The people are angry and, even as the government takes more steps—including violence and the arrest of over 1,000 people—to quell the demonstrations, the masses are not backing down.

This electrifying video was taken on January 25, a day that will surely be remembered years from now, and shows the extent of the public’s determination to bring about a change in their government and society. In all of my years of watching things go down throughout Africa, I have never seen anything like this. As the YouTube description reads, “People are behaving as if they are ready to die.” Fingers crossed for the best. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
