Look For The Love That Lets You In Without You Having To Ask

Twenty20 / @brandondeebaker

Look for the love that knocks on your door a few times until you open the door; the love that doesn’t give up and leave after the first knock. Look for the love that walks in fearlessly, without hesitation, without indecisiveness, without excuses. Look for the love that looks for you as soon as the door opens, the love that looks for you in a crowded room.

Look for the love that doesn’t make your conversations with your friends about confusion, frustration and doubt. Look for the love that doesn’t make you go crazy because of unanswered questions, unanswered texts or unanswered calls. Look for the love that lets you sit back and relax because you don’t have to worry about who’s going to text first, who’s going to make the first move or who’s going to care more. Look for the love that doesn’t play games, look for the love that reassures you that you’re wanted, you’re loved and you’re the only one.

Look for the love that tries a little harder to understand why you built your walls so high, why you caged your heart too soon and why you don’t trust easily. Look for the love that tries to understand your fears instead of calling them ‘baggage.’ Look for the love that makes you want to open up and pour your heart out without calling you too deep, too sensitive or too emotional. Look for the love that doesn’t make you apologize for your feelings. Look for the love that embraces them.

Look for the love that welcomes you with open arms instead of making you feel uninvited. Look for the love that doesn’t make you feel like your company is boring or a waste of time. Look for the love that makes you feel appreciated just the way you are. Look for the love that doesn’t make you feel like you need to look a certain way, or have a certain degree or make a certain amount of money so you can be impressive. Look for the love that looks beyond all that. Look for the love that makes you love yourself a little more. Look for the love that reminds you of the wonderful things you do and how great you are. Look for the love that opens your eyes to the great things you fail to notice about yourself. Look for the love that reminds you of your worth when you forget.

Look for the love that lets you in without you having to ask because that kind of love will change your life. That kind of love will change the way you look at love. That kind of love will give you hope, it will bring out the best in you, it will silence your insecurities and it will help you sleep at night because your heart will finally be happy, it will be rested and it will no longer fight a battle with the mind or with itself.

Look for the love that lets you in without you having to ask because that’s the only kind of love that will put an end to the lonely nights and the heartbreaks. That’s the only kind of love that will not only leave the door open for you, but will also happily give you the key. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
