To The Friends Who Keep Us Going When We Hit Rock Bottom

To the ones who tell us we’re beautiful even when we’re covered in dust.

To the ones who help us see our greatness when all we can see is failure.

To the ones who help us stand back up taller and stronger than ever.

YOU ARE LIFE SAVERS. YOU ARE HEROES. YOU ARE ANGELS.

You are the motivation we need every day to try again, to wake up in the morning and take a leap of faith.

Without you, we would’ve given up, we would’ve buried ourselves and we would’ve missed out on a lot of beautiful things in life.

But when we’re about to give up, you send us uplifting messages telling us that you still believe in us, that you’ll always be there through thick and thin.

When we hate ourselves, you call us to tell us how much you love us, how much you care about us, how much you need us and how important we are to you. You remind us that we matter to someone, you remind us that we are loved.

When we feel lonely, you visit us, you travel across oceans to see us, you stay with us, you bring us back to life and you accept us; with our confused minds, restless hearts and wacky decisions. You try to understand us, you make an effort to find the missing pieces of the puzzle and you somehow help us find ourselves. You complete us.

When we’re scared of tomorrow. You give us hope, you remind us of the battles we’ve won and the times we thought we would never move on but we did. You hold our hands when it’s dark and you help us smile through our tears. You make us laugh again, you go out of your way to make us happy and without you, it would’ve been hard to know what happiness really is.

And when we hit rock bottom, you dig through the dust to find us, you use all your strength to pick us up, you carry us out of the darkness and into the light.

When we’re drowning, you swim against the current to save us, you swim into the deepest oceans to rescue us.

Without you, we wouldn’t have seen another sunny day, another victory or another success story.

Without you, we would’ve stayed at the bottom, wondering what it’s like out there.

So thank you for being in our lives. Thank you for giving us life. Thank you for saving us from ourselves. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
