How Everything Going On In The World Inspired Me To Change My Life

It’s almost shocking now when you watch the news and nothing scary is happening. Amidst all the shootings, bombings, plane crashes, discrimination, and just plain evil, it’s getting harder to be optimistic about the world and about life.

But drastic times call for drastic measures and the more you see the reality that people’s lives can end in seconds no matter where they are and no matter how ‘safe’ they think they are, the more you start reexamining your own life because at any moment — this could be you.

It all starts with the obvious truth that life is too short — too short to live with regrets or so many unanswered questions.

Life is too short to stay stuck at a job you hate to secure a future that’s not even guaranteed.

Life is too short to walk on egg shells, too short to be silent about what you’re most passionate about, or be okay with mediocrity or be someone you’re not.

Life is too short to hate yourself.

Life is too short to put up walls or play games or guard your heart. Life gets better when you love more and take more chances even if you hear the word ‘no.’

The world is huge for us to stay stuck in the wrong place or with the wrong person.

The world is unpredictable to play it safe when it comes to our lives.

The world keeps changing and we can’t stay the same if we want to move ahead.

The world doesn’t care about who you are or what you do for a living and death doesn’t favor anyone. They don’t care about what car you drive or how much money you make, they don’t care about how attractive you are or how many followers you have. When it’s your turn – it’s your turn.

Sometimes we spend our lives chasing the things that will not matter when we’re faced with death.

I think we’re all guilty of thinking we’re invincible sometimes, that bad things won’t happen to us, at least not now, but it always hits us when it hits close to home.

So we delay our gratification, we postpone the things we’re excited about till tomorrow, we wait hours to text back, we wait years to say how we truly feel and we wait until it’s too late to even admit it to ourselves, we keep waiting for the things that will make the biggest difference in our lives to happen to us instead of trying to make them happen.

The world doesn’t wait for you and the world doesn’t care about your timing.

The only power we really have in this world is to live and love as much as we can today because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
