Who, me? Eyeshadow? I love it. Typically, I go with a reddish-burgundy shade, sometimes a glittery bronze made by Nars (Lola Lola’s the name). I find it brings out my greenish-blueish eyes. I take no precautions when applying it either; I’ll just smudge it on my eyelids with my finger and then wipe off the rest under my eyes.
But recently it’s come to my attention that it might be time to switch up my eyeshadows. By which I mean: a guy I was seeing recently asked me if I had makeup on around my eyes, or if I was just really very ill. Yeahhhhh, that’ll do it! I thought to myself as I ran to my bathroom, screaming “Ill! Ill!” and proceeded to drown my face in makeup remover.
But it came at a good time, this revelation. Because it just so happens that I was planning on trying a cobalt blue on my eyelids anyway! I fell in love with this look when Marques’Almeida sent models down the runway with thick, bold streaks of blue across their lids.
And it seems I’m not the only one. We’re only two days into New York Fashion Week (dear God, help us) and already Dannijo and Honor — the latter of which I had never heard of until their show today — used a similar blue hue on their models’ lids.
