1. Zana Bayne.
Calling this “lingerie” might be a stretch. The word “lingerie” seems to imply something one could comfortably lounge in, and Zana Bayne’s leather harnesses are not that. And true, this isn’t necessarily a “must” for your back-to-school wardrobe, but in the world of leather harnesses it is. And a quick peep at the NYC-based designer’s Instagram will remind you why: Madonna, Beyonce, and Marina Abramovic are all fans. Also, this:
They make ready-to-wear and lingerie, but it’s the latter that’s most noteworthy. And in this case their products are actually lingerie, with some bondage embellishments. The pieces themselves are striking, but it’s the way the online retailer styles them that really makes the brand unique. They’ve got a great Instagram too.
The cheapest of the three, Lonely Lingerie is the perfect place to start if you’re an undergarment noob like me. The clothes are slightly bondage-y, but most of all comfortable — which, after you’ve experiences chapped nipples, becomes really important.
