Where Does Our Happiness Live?

Happiness.

What is it?
How do we attain it?
Is there such thing as even being fully happy?

With everything going on in today’s society I find that when it comes to happiness, sometimes it’s not the easiest to attain. Even being happy sometimes I wonder, how long will it last? When will the other shoe drop?

When we fall in love with someone we allow for that love to be our reason and source of happiness. When it really isn’t love. It’s lust. That “feeling” never fails to sneak up on you. But it can’t be where your happiness lies. It needs to lie within yourself. To be able to be happy with who you are as a person, and not because of how someone makes you feel.

We all have our moments where we can be at such a high and then come crashing down and it’s hard to pick ourselves back up. Especially, when we have others out there who come to us for help, support, and guidance. To whoever is reading this, I hope you can find comfort in knowing that you are not alone in your sadness and search for peace. You have to trust the process. Trust that maybe your time is not right now.

Happiness, as corny as it seems lies within ourselves.

No matter who you end up with, you will never feel fully happy unless you allow yourself to fall in love with yourself first. Make yourself a priority. Our hearts might not be at its greatest right now, but trust me when I say it will get better. Be there for others of course, but remember to never forget yourself in the midst of it all. Just know that the rain will eventually stop, and in darkness can we only see the light shining through. Love yourself first. Put yourself first.

Everything else will fall into place. TC mark
