Your Imperfections Are My Favorite Part

By

There’s something about a wobbly stomach,
Slight cellulite on the thighs and behind the legs.
There’s something about stretch marks around the hips
Or even scattered and fragmented all over the body.
There’s something about chipped nail polish.
There’s something about cheap beer
At a temporary or forever friend’s house.
There’s something about her long hair
That hasn’t been washed in almost a week but has so much volume in it.
There is something about his hairy chest.
There is something about his beard.
There’s something about arranged meetings that weren’t planned.
There’s something about falling in love by accident or off guard.
There’s something about those sloppy kisses.
There’s something about that drunken girl in the bathroom
Who became your friend.
There’s something about hearing your manager curse
For the first time
While conversing with you
With random and built trust
There’s something about your teacher
Giving you their personal opinion
While also cursing too
There’s something about discovering
An energetic person gets tired too.
There’s something about seeing your role model
Feel suicidal once in a blue too.
There’s something about seeing that girl
Who’s typically bubbly
Finally let out a sarcastic remark.
There’s something about that nice stranger who tells you
They can’t wait to go home and drink some wine.
There is something about the imperfections.
This is not always my mood.
Sometimes I am rude and make no room for flaws
But when I am in this mind frame,
It just hits a certain home within me.
You and your imperfections
Are home to me
As well as,
A home within me.
You are never alone.
There is always room for you.
Bring in your baggage and I’ll bring my best pen.
With your pain, we’ll paint this town red.
