Look At All These Losers In The Meatpacking District Waiting to Buy An iPad 2

Can you believe adults actually do this? They take off work to wait in a line so they can be the first to own some piece of technology. There were about 400 people doing this, with the proud front runner having arrived there before 8:00am. Actually, can you believe people witness stuff like this because they don’t have real jobs and then take the time to take photos of it from multiple angles and then post it to the Internet? I guess we are all losers in our own unique way. TC mark

I have nothing else better to do with my time.

Which is also why I stand in a line for 6 hours just to be able to comment on this website.

What is the big deal with the iPod? I know this one is new and everything, but now that the iPhone holds music and does everything else, why would anyone get excited about an iPod?

“I have a feeling another iPad is going to be the thing that finally makes me feel complete for the first time in my life, even though the last iPad and 24 generations of iPods somehow failed to do that” – Apple Fanboys

It's all in good fun, like waiting forever for tickets. You meet new people, have engaging conversations, etc. I don't see why people complain about people who aren't harming anyone.

but when you wait in line for tickets for a band you love–be it Radiohead or a classic rock band that is touring with 25-60% of the original line-up dead, like BTO, or the Doobie Brothers–it's an experience, then a memory. it's intangible. i don't know if people ever reminisce about technology that is less than ~5 years old. 'oh man…this one time i waited eight hours to get the new ipad2…that was awesome, even though my ipad3 is vastly superior; it has THREE cameras'

Yeah what's the deal with other people liking things I don't like? People are dumb.

I'm with you Jody. I just came back from shopping with a friend to see people lined up around the corner of our local Mac store. Whenever I see people behaving this way, it makes me want to throw my MacBook out the window.
