How are you?
Three simple words when constructed together could either make or break you. A simple question which everyone could answer, but it all boils down to how genuine would you answer it.
These are the usual answers to this simple question. But come to think of it does everyone really tell how they really feel. A sad person won’t admit to others that they are really sad. A person who is broken won’t fully admit that they are broken and that they need help. I guess this is human nature, we always try to build an image that we are strong and we always got together even though the truth is we don’t. We crave for genuine happiness so we try to convince ourselves every waking moment that we are okay even though we are not because at the end of the day we all just want to be happy.
So, how are you really?
Are you really happy?
Are you really sad? Or just in between.
Whatever it is. Whatever fleeting emotion it is that you are experiencing right now, that’s okay. You are very much entitled to whatever you feel at the moment. You’re only human, you were born to have these emotions, happiness, frustrations, sadness, confusion, loneliness, and everything in between.
But it all boils down on how are you going to handle these waves of emotions.
We all can be happy, really.
But you have to choose today and every day that you want to be happy besides every problem that comes your way.
Choose to be around the people who would lift your spirits up when you’re feeling down.
Choose to do something that would build you more as a person.
Choose to be with someone that you love.
Choose. Choose. Choose.
You have the power to choose, but you have to decide today and do something about it.
Happiness is a choice you have to choose every waking moment.
