“I am tired, I am true of heart! …And also: you are tired, you are true of heart!” Doesn’t that just kill you? Like, totally slay you? Because it totally kills me. And isn’t it just all so true?

Here’s my other favorite part of the book, which is a book in which Dave Eggers discusses the deaths of both his parents. In the book, someone is asking him if he should really be sharing all these embarrassing, intimate details about his life, about his parents’ life. Dave’s response? “You are a panhandler, begging for anything”–

You are tired, but you are true of heart. More is more is more. More sharing, more bleeding. More giving. And that’s your daily affirmation for the day.
