Sometimes I Forget
Sometimes I forget that after so many years of joy and peace, so much happiness and love, that things can still become hard. But with the hardness comes strength and with the trials come lessons learned and lives changed.
Sometimes I forget that after so many years of joy and peace, so much happiness and love, that things can still become hard. But with the hardness comes strength and with the trials come lessons learned and lives changed.
Out of nowhere, that’s where they erupt from.
I persevered through it all, dug myself out of ditch upon ditch, and in the end I’m stronger for it.
For the first time in a long time, I breathe without choking, smile without crying, and stretch out my limbs without bondage buckling.
I will use each and every one of those experiences as stepping stones.
I don’t want an apology — sorry just doesn’t cut it.
To start let’s be clear about one thing: we were both wrong in many ways. It wasn’t one-sided.
So now as the sun begins to set on another year, as the golden rays spread across the horizon, I smile.
So now it begins. The beginning of a new chapter, heck the beginning of a new book.
