The right relationship not only brings out the best in you but it can also change you for the better. It’ll tests you in ways you’ve never been tested through carefully placed obstacles which usually revolves around patience, compromise, and straight out unconditional love.
The right relationship goes through bad times with a confidence so genuine it always knows that everything is going to be okay because the right relationship should be exciting, inspiring, empowering, and full of growth.
Your forever person will NOT be perfect because there’s going to be days where they will drive you crazy over something small. They have their flaws as much as you have yours. There’s going to be moments where you swear they’re your worst enemy and times when you’re positive that maybe the problematic portions of what every relationship provides aren’t necessarily your cup of tea.
The right relationships go through flames of arguments, misunderstandings, and grueling frustration over the smallest mistakes and yet still want to hold each other’s hand once it’s put out. It’ll take tremendous effort from both of you to keep moving forward.
It’s an ongoing exchange of strengths and weaknesses perfectly sorted to the right places in order to get through the best and worst of problems.
The one thing I learned reflecting back on my single life to being in a relationship is the fact that love can be everything you’ve imagined but it can also be something you never expected. Love will always be there for you, love you until it hurts, and care until it irritates your whole world. But love will also put you in your place, not to control you, but to look out for you. Love is not afraid to start an argument in order to protect you. But love also knows when to let go because you’ve earned its trust enough to believe you will make the right decision.
A relationship is more than having someone to talk to, to lean on, or to be there when you need them. It’s something that can transform your life into an adventure where every challenge and obstacle you face will be a token of reward and not of destruction. It’s more than being labeled as relationship goals, or having perfectly photographed Instagram posts. It’s effort, hard work- mental and emotional; it’s maturity, understanding, honesty, loyalty, and a lot of loving hard as possible.
This is why it’s so important to live your best life while you’re still single because every lesson you learn and every experience you face will be the things you need to obtain to have that happy and healthy relationship with somebody else.
The right relationship will teach you more things about yourself than you could ever learn alone, it will teach you patience without anxiety, compromise without losing who you are, and love without hesitation. It will always save you.
