6. August: Osage County

I’m very, very cautiously optimistic about this for two reasons: 1. Meryl Streep’s last theatre adaptation, Doubt, fucking sucked, even though Streep rocked in it. (Seriously, though, just see the play.) 2. August: Osage County was directed by the guy who did ER — because, why? However, it’s still from Tracy Letts and it’s still got dat cast — featuring Streep, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ewan McGregor, Abigail Breslin, Justified’s Margo Martindale, Chris Cooper, Juliette Lewis, Sam Shepard and Julianne Nicholson. It also has Julia Roberts, but whatever. You take the bad with the good.
