18. Snowpiercer

I was very excited about this — because it’s American debut of Joon-ho Bong (The Host, Mother) — but I’ve downgraded to ambivalent. The Weinsteins cut twenty minutes from the movie, concerned it would be too confusing for American audiences. They wanted to make sure that even people in places like “Iowa and Oklahoma” can understand it. Well, Harvey, they’re definitely not going to see it now that you’ve told them they’re stupid. Personally, I’ll hold out for the longer cut. I’m excited for movies that trust me.
