Myths are lies that tell the truth. So if you’re feeling quite specifically like you’re standing at a crossroads in your life, knowing the mythology associated with crossroads might help you to find your best path.
I’m not suggesting that you expose them to all your holes at once (cringe) – I’m just saying that if your misrepresenting who you are, you’re setting yourself up for failure if you want emotional intimacy.

So, the next time you think that there’s something wrong with people with obvious addictions or addictions to illegal substances, remember that you’re no different to them. The underlying mechanism – the need to do something in order to make yourself feel better – is there in all of us.

If you don’t want your judgements about people to be arbitrary and discriminatory, ask yourself what choices people have made to be in those categories.
