Whenever Life Gets Too Hard, Remember The Little Things

By

When I was young, I wanted to grow as fast as I could so that I could work, earn money, and help my parents. And now, after almost 14 years of working, there are times that I wish I could go back and be that young girl again.

That young girl that was full of hope, joy, and love. That sweet little girl that didn’t worry about anything but only loved to play, eat, and sleep. Most of the time, I envy that little girl. Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful for the life that I have now, but sometimes I think it would be nice to go back to when things weren’t yet complicated.

Recently I was walking by and I saw a little boy that was full of joy while he was in his father’s arms. Then as I continued walking, I saw the excitement in the eyes of a little girl as her mother handed her cotton candy. I also saw a young boy who tripped and cried, but when his brother helped him get up, there was happiness and courage in his face.

It was at that moment that realization hit me: Life may be difficult, full of unending problems, overthinking, worrying, making important decisions, and struggling with finances, but it is actually how you see life that matters. You can always count on your family, friends, and loved ones whenever you feel exhausted. You can always be happy about simple things. And whenever you stumble and fall, you can always get up and have that courage in your heart.

Whenever you feel tired, you can always step back and go back to where you started so that you will be reminded again of the reasons why you are doing everything. You can keep fighting, despite the hardships that life throws at you. Sometimes we are so focused on moving forward and beating the deadline we set for our lives to stop and step back to see a clearer vision of our purpose in life. And remember, no matter what your age is, you can always be like a stress-free child ready to face whatever life may throw at you.
