A Eulogy For ‘The Buried Life,’ The Best Show That Ever Existed

By

We are gathered here today in memory of MTV’s The Buried Life, the best show that was ever on television and that will never be replaced by anything ever because nothing will be as good and pure as it was. While it was with us for only two blissful seasons, we will never forget the journey Ben, Jonnie, Duncan, and Dave took us on when they asked us, “What do you want to do before you die?”

As we mourn the loss of the best thing MTV will ever do, let’s remember the good times. Let us not forget the time they participated in a krumping battle, nor the time they played basketball with former President Barack Obama (miss you too). Let us not forget that time they appeared on Oprah or streaked through a baseball field during a MLB game.

But most importantly, let’s not forget all the people The Buried Life guys helped. Let’s look back and remember when they helped 19-year-old Tori Biddle hug her dad for the first time:

Let’s not forget when they helped Tia and Justin finally meet after nine years of talking online:

The Buried Life was the highest rated series on MTV ever, and with good reason. In a world of Kardashians, Desperate Housewives, and Jersey Shore, it was nice to see four really hot, kind, funny Canadian dudes do something thoughtful and kind for the rest of the world.

RIP, The Buried Life. You will always be in our hearts.
