When You Get The Opporunity To Stand At The Edge Of The Ocean

By

When you get the opportunity to stand at the edge of the ocean, I hope you take it.

I hope you stand at the edge of the shoreline and dig your feet into the sand. I hope you let the ocean was over your feet and hit your ankles. I hope you feel each and every pebble underneath your skin. I hope you close your eyes and listen to the sound of the waves, I hope you feel the heat of the sun upon your skin, and the wind as it blows through your hair.

I hope you don’t turn away as the crash of the waves spray your face.

I hope you let the salt dry on your skin, too.

When you get the opportunity to stand at the edge of the ocean, I hope you take it. I hope you take it, and I hope you take it in, too.

I hope you stand at the edge of that water and look out at the sea that sprawls and spans before you. Take in its size, it’s grandeur, it’s magnificence. Let it be a reminder of how big this world really is, and how we are tiny blips among the shore.

I hope you draw peace from the rhythm of the waves. Listen to how they keep crashing, listen to how they keep rolling – watch how they continue to move. I hope you remember to keep moving, too.

When you get the opportunity to stand at the edge of the ocean, I hope you take it.

I hope you stand at the edge of the water and look at your reflection dance back at you. I hope you see yourself, dancing amongst the waves. I hope you see yourself, shining with sunbeams in your hair.

I hope you see yourself, always.

When you get the opportunity to stand at the edge of the ocean, I hope you dive right in.
